the blank
Sketch cardthe blank every artist gets
This is the card every artist in the program draws on. It's the first version we've designed for Upper Crust, and we plan to make other styles down the road.
the details
What it's made of
Here's the card, plainly, and how it's set up.
| Thickness | 26pt |
|---|---|
| Build | An uncoated drawing surface, mounted to card stock |
| Front | Blank, with the small Upper Crust logo in the corner |
| Back | Printed with “This slice of art was served by,” a line for the artist's name, and “One slice only, 1/1” |
| Works with | Ink, marker, colored pencil and paint |
| Protect it | A standard sleeve, then a 55pt toploader |
What's inside
A simplified look at the edge.
A single 16pt sheet can let some markers and wet media come through to the back. This card has an uncoated drawing surface mounted to card stock, so there's more between your marker and the back. Every medium behaves a little differently, so test yours before the final piece.
for artists
Drawing on it
Leave the little logo showing on the front and put your name on the back. The rest is up to you.
- Ink, marker, colored pencil and paint all work on the uncoated surface.
- Let it dry all the way and keep it flat. The card has to scan clean and fit in a case, so seal anything that smudges.
- Your name goes on the back, on the line under “This slice of art was served by.”
- When it comes home, we scan it, authenticate it and add it to the Library, with its own code and QR code.

Road 8's originals, drawn by hand on the blank.
